As a martial artist for over 35 years I have developed mind and body programmes that get people fit and wanted to add acupuncture to the ways I could help people improve both their physical and emotional well-being.
Acupuncture helps the body to treat itself by stimulating the areas where energy blockages and dis-harmonies have occurred. Each acupuncture point has a specific use to help trigger different aspects of the body's natural defences.
When I started looking at acupuncture I was sceptical and my constant questioning over years of study has convinced me that when applied properly, acupuncture can be a positive tool to help your mind, body and spirit bring itself back into balance.
My first hand experience of using acupuncture has shown me the importance of keeping the acupuncture points used in each session to a minimum as I've found the most simplest treatments are quite often the most effective.

Moxa (Heat Therapy)
The Moxa herb is lit and a therapeutic heat permeates the skin and activates the flow of Qi (energy) and blood to bring about balance in the body's energetic system.
Cupping uses suction to pull skin, tissue and muscles upward to increase blood flow to the effected area to promote healing.
Tui Na (Structural Realignment)
A form of ancient Chinese massage that gently stimulates blood flow to release energy and help relieve tension &/or pain.
Gua Sha (Epidermal Stimulation)
Gentle scraping of the skin, using a round-edged Jade stone, causing cutaneous stimulation that improves blood flow to release tension or pain in a localised area.
